Telo is a desktop Telegram client with an AI agent in the side panel. Ask it what you missed, and it reads the chat you have open, then summarizes, drafts a reply or translates.

A Telegram client that works with you

  • An agent that sees your chats

    When your question needs it, the agent inspects the visible chat list and the open conversation. It summarizes discussions, drafts replies in context and translates between languages.

  • Your provider, your keys

    Connect OpenAI or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, such as DeepSeek, OpenRouter, Groq, Ollama or LM Studio. With a local model, agent requests never leave your computer.

  • Secrets stay sealed

    API keys and Telegram sessions are encrypted with the system keychain before they reach the disk. The interface runs in a sandbox and never receives a raw key.

  • A complete Telegram client

    Quoted replies, in-place edits, forwarding, pinned and muted chats, animated emoji and native notifications, on macOS, Windows and Linux.

How the agent works

Press Cmd/Ctrl + B to open the agent beside any chat.

  • It reads the visible chat list and the open conversation only when your question needs them.
  • Replies stream in as they are written, and each step is shown while it runs.
  • Conversations with the agent are kept as separate threads, saved on your computer.
  • If a long task finishes while Telo is in the background, you get a system notification.

Built on Telegram's own library

Telo runs TDLib, the library Telegram publishes for building clients, in the app's main process. Each account keeps its chats and messages in its own database, encrypted with a key from the system keychain. Sign in with your phone number, a verification code and, if you have one, your cloud password.

Made to be adjusted

Choose a light, dark or system theme, one of five accent colors, message text from 12 to 18 px, a chat background and a 12- or 24-hour clock. Settings search takes you straight to the row you are looking for.
